Show visitors a message when they arrive: an announcement, an offer, or a newsletter signup.
The Popup Manager is available on the Business plan (or a trial).
Finding it
Administration › Settings › Popup Manager. It has two sub-tabs: Configure and Layout & Styles.
Configure
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable/Disable | Turns the popup on |
| Title | The heading |
| Popup text/html | The body, with full formatting |
| Popup text/html mobile | A shorter version for phones |
| CTA button URL / CTA button label | An optional action button |
| Popup image | Used by the image layouts |
| Form submissions go to | Where signup emails are sent |
| Form submit button label | Defaults to 'Subscribe' |
| Form success message | Defaults to 'Thanks! We'll be in touch.' |
| Force accept terms | Removes the close button; visitors must click Submit |
| Width | Wide, Medium or Narrow |
| Popup delay time (seconds) | Blank shows it immediately |
| Set by page | Leave empty for every page, or tick specific pages |
Layouts
On Layout & Styles, pick one of five:
- Text only: title and body, centred (default)
- Image left, text right
- Image on top, text below
- Slide-in corner: a small card bottom-right with no dark backdrop. The least intrusive option.
- Email capture: title, body and an email signup field
Collecting email signups
Choose the Email capture layout and enter an address in Form submissions go to. Each signup is emailed to that address as it happens.
Important: signups are emailed, not stored. There's no list inside Limecube to view or export, so use an address you monitor, and add it to your mailing list as they arrive.
Styling
Corner radius plus colours for Background, Title, Text, Border, Button background and Button text. Leave them blank to use your theme's defaults.
How often visitors see it
Once someone closes the popup it won't show again on that device for 7 days. With Force accept terms on, it returns on their next visit instead.
Tips
- Add a short delay: two or three seconds. A popup that appears instantly is usually dismissed before it's read.
- Fill in the mobile text. If Popup text/html mobile is empty, phone visitors see an empty popup.
- Choosing an image layout without uploading an image falls back to Text only.
- Slide-in corner is the friendliest option: no dark overlay, and visitors can keep reading.
- The CTA button doesn't close the popup: visitors close it with the ×.
- Use Force accept terms sparingly. It blocks the whole site until they click, which is right for age or legal confirmations and wrong for a newsletter.
