Limecube's marketing tools help you optimise your website for paid campaigns. The A/B testing feature lets you compare two landing page variants to determine which performs better with your target audience.
A/B Testing Tool Overview
The A/B testing tool enables split testing between two landing pages. It is designed for paid marketing campaigns such as social media ads or Google Ads, where you want to determine which page variation drives more conversions. Traffic is automatically split 50-50 between the two variants.
A/B testing is not recommended for SEO purposes, as split traffic can negatively impact search engine rankings.
How to Use the A/B Testing Tool
Setting Up Your Test
- 1Navigate to Settings > Marketing tab to access the A/B testing tool
- 2Create two page versions — Page A (your control) and Page B (your variant)
- 3Configure the test in the marketing tools section
- 4Direct your campaign traffic to the A/B test URL provided by Limecube
- 5Limecube automatically alternates visitor routing between the two pages
Analysing Results with Google Analytics
To analyse your A/B test results, ensure Google Analytics (GA4) is set up on your site before running the test. Navigate to Reports > Engagement > Pages and screens in GA4 to compare metrics like page views, engagement time, and conversion rates between your two variants.
Tips for Effective Testing
- 1Define measurable goals before starting your test (e.g. form submissions, button clicks)
- 2Test a single element at a time — changing multiple things makes it hard to identify what worked
- 3Allow sufficient test duration (at least a few weeks) for statistically meaningful results
- 4Avoid making frequent changes mid-test, as this invalidates your data
