What Is an XML Sitemap?
Each Limecube site has a built-in, automatically generated XML sitemap. Limecube creates each URL entry and includes information about page update dates and change frequency. This helps Google and other search engines index your website efficiently.
Where to Find Your Sitemap
Your XML sitemap is available by adding
/sitemap.xml to the end of your domain name — for example, https://www.yoursite.com/sitemap.xml.Removing a Page from the Sitemap
If you do not want a page included in the sitemap, you can remove it by telling Google to 'noindex' the page.
Steps to Remove a Page
- 1In the page editor, navigate to the page you want to remove
- 2Click on the SEO page settings (next to the gear icon)
- 3Find the 'No index' label and select the checkbox
- 4Click Apply
- 5Check your sitemap — the page will now be excluded
Setting a page to 'noindex' means Google will not include it in search results at all, not just the sitemap. Only use this for pages you genuinely want hidden from search engines.
Checking Your Sitemap
There are three ways to verify your sitemap is working correctly:
Verification Methods
- 1Add <code>/sitemap.xml</code> to your domain name in a browser — it should display a page showing all your page URLs
- 2Submit your sitemap to <a href="/support/kb/google-search-console">Google Search Console</a> and check for errors
- 3Use an online XML sitemap validation tool to confirm the format is correct
