Working with Images

Images significantly impact how visitors perceive your website. Consider researching competitor imagery for style inspiration, sourcing quality images from platforms like Pexels, Unsplash, Adobe Stock, or Getty Images, and maintaining visual consistency in colour and aesthetic across your site. Limecube includes a powerful built-in image editor that automatically resizes and optimises your uploads.

Uploading an Image to an Element

Steps to Upload an Image

 1. 1Click the image icon or button within the element
 2. 2Click the upload icon and select the desired image(s) from your computer
 3. 3Click the image in the file manager to insert it
 4. 4Click Apply to close the element and apply the image

Images in Content Blocks

Image blocks within content blocks enhance viewer retention and break up large sections of text.

Steps to Add an Image to a Content Block

 1. 1Navigate to the desired page
 2. 2Click the '+Add Element' icon
 3. 3Drag the Content icon to the desired location
 4. 4Click inside the content area to show the editing toolbar
 5. 5Click the image icon on the toolbar
 6. 6Click the folder icon to open the file manager
 7. 7Navigate to and click the desired image
 8. 8Click OK, then click Save
Use the free stock photo library built into Limecube to access images from Pexels without leaving your website editor.

Adding a Background Image to a Page

Steps to Set a Page Background Image

 1. 1Click the settings tab on the target page
 2. 2Click upload and select your image
 3. 3Choose a size option: 'Fit to 100% page width' (adjusts to full screen width), 'Cover the page background' (covers width and height), or 'Original image size' (retains exact dimensions — useful with patterns)
 4. 4Select a repeat preference — useful for background patterns, generally unnecessary for photographs
Consider text legibility when selecting background images. You can modify text appearance in the style editor to improve readability over busy backgrounds.

Deleting an Image from a Page

Steps to Delete an Image

 1. 1Navigate to the page containing the image
 2. 2Hover your mouse over the image

Apple HEIC Image Format

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's format for high-quality photos in smaller file sizes. However, HEIC files are not widely supported across all web browsers — notably Google Chrome and Firefox lack native support. You must convert HEIC files to JPEG or PNG before uploading.

How to Convert HEIC Files

Online tools: CloudConvert, HEICtoJPG, or Convertio.
Desktop software: Adobe Photoshop or iMazing HEIC Converter (free for Windows and Mac).
Mobile apps: Luma (iPhone) or HEIC to JPG Free Converter (Android).
Uploading HEIC images directly may prevent many visitors from viewing them. Always convert to JPEG or PNG first.
