What Is the File Manager?

The file manager is a central hub for storing all your images and files within Limecube. It also provides access to a library of over one million free images from Pexels.

Accessing the File Manager

There are three ways to open the file manager:

Access Methods

  1. 1From the top admin menu under 'Files'
  2. 2Through any element with image or file options
  3. 3From a content element — click the file icon in the toolbar, then click the folder icon

Views

Standard View

The default grid/thumbnail view shows your files as visual previews.

List View

The list view displays detailed information about your files including the full file name, image dimensions, upload date and time, and file size. Toggle between views using the view icons.

Accepted File Types

Limecube's file manager supports a wide range of common file types:
Documents: PDF, DOC, DOCX, XLSX
Images: JPG, PNG, GIF
Videos: MP4, AVI, MOV
eBooks: EPUB, MOBI

Tips for Using the File Manager

If you cannot see all file types (such as PDF or DOCX), you may have clicked the 'Insert Image' icon which only shows image files. Use the correct icon to view all file types.

Best Practices

  1. 1Use folders to keep your files organised — it makes locating specific files much easier
  2. 2Take advantage of the free image library to enhance your site's visual appeal without external sources
  3. 3Periodically review and delete unnecessary files to keep the file manager tidy
  4. 4Use clear, consistent naming conventions for files so they are easy to search and identify
  5. 5Use the batch upload feature to add multiple files at once
  6. 6Use the filter/search bar to quickly find files by name
