Crop, straighten, adjust, filter, resize and add text to any image, without leaving Limecube.
Opening the editor
You can open it from several places:
- File Manager: right-click any image and choose Edit image
- An image on your page: hover the image element and click the image/pencil icon
- Your logo: click the edit icon on the logo in the editor
- Also from Testimonials and the Image Accordion element
The editor fills the whole screen, with tools down the left and your image in the middle.
The tools
Crop
Pick an aspect ratio (Free, 1:1, 4:3, 3:2, 16:9, 9:16, 3:4, 2:3), drag the handles or the middle of the box to frame your shot, then Apply Crop. Reset puts the box back.
Transform
90° Left / 90° Right for quick turns, a Fine rotate slider for straightening a wonky horizon, and Flip H / Flip V.
Adjust
Eight sliders in three groups:
- Light: Brightness, Contrast, Highlights, Shadows
- Colour: Saturation, Temperature (warm or cool)
- Effects: Blur, Vignette
Filters
Ten one-click looks, each previewed on your own image: Normal, Vivid, Matte, Grayscale, Sepia, Cool, Warm, Faded, Dramatic, Vintage.
BG Remove (Business plan)
Removes the background automatically. Click Remove Background and wait a few seconds. Restore original puts the background back if you change your mind.
Resize
Type a new Width or Height. The padlock between them keeps the proportions correct and is on by default. Up to 8000px per side.
Text
Add a line of text over the image, with Font size, Colour, Bold, Shadow and left/centre/right alignment. Drag the text on the image to position it. One text layer per image.
Saving
Click Save Image. Your original file is never changed: Limecube saves the edited version as a new file in your File Manager, and whatever you were editing (the page image, your logo) is pointed at the new copy. Images are saved at up to 3000 pixels on the longest side.
Undo and shortcuts
- Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z): undo, up to 20 steps
- Ctrl+Y (or Cmd+Y): redo
- Esc: close the editor
Cancel and Esc discard everything immediately: there's no 'are you sure?' prompt, so save before you close if you want to keep your work.
Tips
- Crop, resize and background removal reset any rotation or flip, so do your straightening after those, not before.
- Filters don't affect your text: the text always stays crisp on top.
- Background removal works best on clear subjects: a person or product against a distinguishable background. Very busy backgrounds are harder.
- If your original is a PNG with transparency, the edited copy stays a PNG so it doesn't gain a white box. Everything else saves as a JPEG.
