Overview
When moving from another website platform to Limecube, keep your existing site active during the transition so visitors always have access to a live site. Limecube blocks new sites from search engines until you are ready to launch.
The Impact of Switching on SEO
Transferring website platforms might initially affect your site's search ranking. This is a standard outcome regardless of which platform you choose. The impact can be quite minimal if you follow the suggestions below, particularly around 301 redirects.
Step 1 — Take a Trial Run of Limecube
Limecube offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. Use this time to explore the platform's features and decide whether it is the right fit for your needs.
Step 2 — Build Your Website
Building Your New Site
- 1Start a free trial — you get 14 days with no credit card needed
- 2Use the AI builder or select a template to construct your site
- 3Customise your styling — fonts, colours, and design elements
- 4Add multiple pages with the structures and content you need
While it is not possible to import your old site directly, you can recreate it on Limecube's platform. The AI builder can speed up this process significantly.
Step 3 — Upgrade to a Paid Plan
After you have assessed Limecube during the trial, upgrade to a paid plan to continue building and eventually launch your site.
Step 4 — Point Your Domain
Direct your domain from the old platform to Limecube by updating your DNS settings. See Connecting Your Domain for detailed instructions for your domain registrar.
Step 5 — Set Up Page Redirects
Use 301 redirects to automatically redirect your old page URLs to the corresponding new pages. This preserves search rankings and ensures bookmarked links continue to work.
Step 6 — Cancel Your Old Provider
Once your Limecube site is fully live and all content has been recreated, cancel your subscription with SquareSpace, Weebly, or Wix.
