Step 1: Running a Keyword Search

  1. Enter a keyword related to your business, services, or products in the Keyword field.
  2. Set a location (e.g., suburb, city, or country).
    • Start typing and wait for the dropdown to appear.
    • Select the most relevant location.
  3. Click Search to generate results.

Step 2: Understanding the Keyword Results

Once the search runs, a table will display the keyword variations, including:

  • Keywords – Suggestions based on your input. The keywords you input will show at the top highlighted.
  • Category – A way to group similar keywords.
  • Page Mapping – Allows you to associate keywords with relevant pages (explained in Step 4).
  • Avg. Monthly Searches – An estimate of how often people search for the keyword.
  • Competition – Indicates how difficult it is to rank for the keyword.

How to Choose Keywords

  1. For New Websites: Start with lower-competition keywords to rank more easily.

  2. For Blog Traffic: Look for informational keywords that answer common customer questions.

  3. For Sales & Leads: Prioritise keywords that include location-based intent (e.g., "plumber in Sydney").

Step 3: Grouping Keywords into Categories

  1. Select multiple keywords by checking the boxes in the first column.
  2. On the right-hand side, use the Bulk Action Category section to save and categorise your keywords.
  3. If you don’t have categories set up yet:
    • Click Add Category and enter relevant category names.
  4. Once grouped, click Apply to save your selections to the category tab.

Step 4: Mapping Keywords to Pages

  1. Click on the Categories tab at the top of the tool.

  2. Review your grouped keywords—adjust them if needed.

  3. Use the Page Mapping dropdown to associate each keyword with a relevant page on your website.

Important:

  • Page Mapping does not automatically push keywords into your website pages.
  • This feature helps organise your SEO strategy by aligning keywords with specific pages.
