We suggest keeping your existing SquareSpace, Weebly or Wix site active until you've completed your new site. This ensures visitors have access to a live site while you work on the transition. Once you are live with the new website, you can close down your old site.
Transferring website platforms might initially affect your site's search ranking. This is a standard outcome regardless of the platform you select, including Limecube. The impact can be quite minimal, if you follow our suggestions:

Migrating to Limecube involves re-designing your website through our page editor, starting with either our AI Website Builder which can build and write your website content, or by starting with a pre-made template. While you are building your new site, we block it from the search engines, so you don’t need to worry about anyone accidently finding it. Once you go live, that search engine block is automatically removed.
While it's not possible to import your old site, you can follow these steps to build a new site on Limecube:
1. Start a free trial - Limecube offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card needed. Trials provide access to all Limecube features and help you decide if our platform suits your requirements.
2. Use AI to build your site, or select a template – We recommend starting with the AI, as it makes it incredibly quick to build your site. While an AI built site will likely require some work before fully launching, it takes a significant amount of the hard work out of it for you. Whether AI builds your site, or you start with a template, all sites come with the same features and styling options. This allows you to create a stunning site for various purposes, such as small business sites, restaurants, dental practice sites, weddings, and more.
3. Styling your site - Use the style editor to alter fonts, colours, and other design elements.
4. Add pages – Add as many pages as you like. Pages can be designed exactly as you need, with many different structures available. Pages can be included in your menu structure, or through linking to these pages by other direct means.
Your 14-day free trial allows you to explore Limecube. Once you've assessed the platform and decided to build your new site with Limecube, you'll need to upgrade to a paid plan.
When you are ready to go live with your website on Limecube, it is just a matter of pointing your domain from your old site, to the new site. This is done via your domain name. Learn more about what’s involved here.
Page redirects, or ‘301 redirects’ are important to setup, to minimise any impact to search engine rankings, or where someone has bookmarked your page. 301 redirects auto redirect your old pages, to the new pages. Learn how to redirect your pages here.
Limecube integrates website hosting into our platform. Once your Limecube site is live, you've transferred or recreated all crucial content, and you no longer require your old site, you can likely cancel service with your previous provider.
If you connected a domain that's still hosted by another provider, you'll need to maintain that domain subscription. If you're uncertain, contact your former provider to verify the services you're paying for.
