Siteground - DNS Setting

This page is if you want to point your domain to Limecube when you purchased your domain with Siteground.

Pointing your domain

  1. Log into SiteGround Account:
    1. Access your SiteGround account by logging in at SiteGround's website. 
    2. Once logged in, navigate to the "Websites" section
    3. Find the domain you want to modify and select “Site Tools” next to it.
  2. Manage DNS Records:
    1. Inside Site Tools, go to the “Domain” section and then click on “DNS Zone Editor”.siteground DNS zone editor
  3. Add or Edit A Record:

    1. Use the 'A' record to point your domain to Limecube's IP address (35.197.188.96)
    2. If an A record for your domain already exists, edit it. If not, add a new record.
    3. Set the “Select Name” field to your domain name.
    4. Set the "IPv4 Address” field to 35.197.188.96.
    5. Save the changes.
  4. Manage CNAME Records:
    1. Next set up a CNAME record. You can this in the same DNS Zone Editor.
    2. in the 'Create New Record' box, select the “CNAME” tab.
    3. Set the “Name” field to www and the "Resolves to" field to be your root domain (e.g. "yourdomain.com").
    4. If this record already exists, then you don't need to add a new one.
  5. Save Changes:
    1. After adding or editing the records, make sure to save the changes.

Time delay

It may take up to 2-24 hours for your domain to fully point to Limecube. This time delay is dependent on your domain host.

You may also find that within this period of time, some users will see the new site, some will see the old site.

Troubleshooting

If your domain is pointing to Limecube correctly, it should show our IP address in this tool as per the screenshot below, and show a result of 35.197.188.96.

To use this tool, simply enter your domain name in the first field where you see 'limecube.co, and press 'search'.

Not showing 35.197.188.96 If you don't yet see 35.197.188.96 showing, and 2 hours have passed, we recommend going back and checking your domain settings against the instructions above.
Only some countries show 35.197.188.96 If it is simply a case that 35.197.188.96 is showing on some countries and not others, that indicates your domain has started updating correctly, but not yet fully updated everywhere yet, and will just need more time.
